FOR  OUR MID-HUDSON VALLEY MEMBERS:

The Dyson Foundation is strongly committed to the Mid-Hudson Valley, New York State counties of Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, and Ulster. We have a particular emphasis on Dutchess County, our home community. Organizations can apply for grants in the following three funding areas.

Project Support Grants» Grant support to nonprofit organizations in the Mid-Hudson Valley for programs or projects that impact the lives of the region's residents, most importantly those who are economically disadvantaged.

General Operating Support Grants» Unrestricted grant support available to nonprofit organizations in the Mid-Hudson Valley who are recent past recipients of Dyson Foundation funding.

Management Assistance Program Grants» Grant support available in the Mid-Hudson Valley to help build the management infrastructure of the region's charitable institutions.  Funds are available through the Nonprofit Strategic Restructuring Initiative, the Mini-Grant Program and the Cash Flow Loan Program.

SURDNA  FOUNDATION:

Culture helps people connect over time, inviting them to build and sustain the vibrant communities they cal home.  Thriving cultures honor and celebrate the artistic impulse as part of community behavior and as a way to strengthen community identity and cohesion. The Surdna Foundation believes that cultural organizations, programs and projects often provide the opportunity for exploration of values and can act as catalysts for the building of just, sustainable communities.  At their best, they contribute to fair access to social goods such as rights, opportunities and dignity.

Currently, Surdna's Thriving Cultures Program will accept letters of inquiry in three lines of work:  Teens' Artistic Advancement, Artists Engaging in Social Change, and Community Driven Design.
