NYMACC is a professional development network for community arts center administrators whose mission is to strengthen and promote multi-arts centers throughout New York State.
NYMACC is a bridge that communicates the value of multi-arts centers in their communities to the field at large, and it also connects multi-arts centers to the information, network and skills needed to deliver arts programming of the highest caliber for the benefit of a broad public in local and diverse communities across New York State.
NYMACC fulfills its mission by offering professional development programs; facilitating peer-to-peer learning exchanges, mentorships, and consultancies; sponsoring collaborative partnerships among members designed to raise the visibility of the field; and advocating for the field at large by demonstrating the socio-economic benefits of multi-arts centers across the state.
NYMACC’s VISION for the future is one in which:
- Community-based multi-arts centers are commonly understood and supported by the public and the government.
- The public values the vital roles that artists, artwork, and art centers play in cultural tourism, economic development, and in our daily lives.
- A strong and vibrant network assures that multi-arts centers support each others efforts to present quality and accessible arts programming in their local communities.
- Multi-arts centers are operated by administrators who have the benefit of professional training and broad support from their communities.
